Common Questions

How many pages should a contractor website have?

Most contractor sites land somewhere between ten and twenty pages once they are built out properly. That is usually a home page, an about page, a contact page, one page per service you sell, one per town you work in, and somewhere to show your work. The number falls out of your business rather than a target you aim at.

The count on its own means nothing. Twenty thin pages built to pad a sitemap will rank worse than eight good ones, because each page has to answer a search somebody is genuinely making. The useful question is whether every service you sell has a page a customer could land on directly from Google. Most contractor sites fail that test by bundling six services onto one page. You can see how we structure it on the contractor website examples page.
