Auto Body Shop SEO Case Study: 41 Calls and Messages in 27 Days

JF Reparos Automotivos is a family auto body shop that had been in business for over twenty years with nothing to show for it in search. A new multi-page site put them on the first page for the repairs they actually do, and the phone started going.

Where they started

JF Reparos is a body shop in a dense residential part of Rio de Janeiro. They do panel work, respray, mechanical and auto electrical repair, and they bill insurers directly. Twenty years of that builds a reputation on the street, and almost none of it online.

There was no search presence to speak of. Search Console holds no record of the domain appearing for anything before the new site went live, which is the cleanest possible starting line: every impression and every click on this page was earned from zero.

That matters more in a trade like this than it looks. Someone whose bumper is hanging off does not ask three friends for a recommendation. They search, on a phone, for the repair plus the neighbourhood, and they call one of the first names they see.

What we built

A 31-page site in Portuguese, built so that every repair they sell and every neighbourhood they cover has a page of its own to rank with. One page each for the six services, twelve more for the specific jobs underneath them, and six for the areas they serve.

That structure is the whole trick. A single services page asks Google to rank one URL for a dozen different searches, and it loses to shops that gave each one its own page. Splitting them means a search for bumper repair lands on the bumper repair page, and a search for a neighbourhood lands on that neighbourhood's page.

Every screen leads with two things: tap to call, and open WhatsApp. In Brazil the WhatsApp button is not a nice extra, it is how people actually make contact, and the numbers below bear that out.

The pages doing the work

This is what splitting the site into a page per service and a page per area actually bought. Every one of these ranks on its own, for its own search, instead of a single services page trying to cover all of it.

Neighbourhood page
25 impressions · 1 click → Position 5.6
Bumper repair page
38 impressions · 3 clicks → Position 6.0
Auto electrical page
755 impressions · 7 clicks → Position 7.9
Service areas index
829 impressions · 8 clicks → Position 8.2
Panel work and respray page
649 impressions · 14 clicks → Position 10.5
Respray page
478 impressions · 15 clicks → Position 13.5

The pattern worth noticing: the narrower the page, the higher it ranks. The single neighbourhood page and the bumper repair page sit above everything else on the site, ahead of the homepage, because nothing else out there is that specific to that job in that part of the city. Meanwhile the two biggest service pages pull 29 of the 109 clicks between them.

Thirteen pages picked up impressions in the period. The homepage is the largest single source at 2,658 impressions and 52 clicks, and the rest is spread across the service and area pages above.

The calls

Rankings are only worth something if the phone goes. We added call and WhatsApp tracking at the end of August. In the 27 days after that, the site produced this:

Tapped to call
8 people → 20 calls
Opened WhatsApp
12 people → 21 messages

That is 41 contact actions in 27 days, from 53 people who visited the site. Roughly one visitor in three picked up the phone or opened a chat rather than leaving.

Source: the client's Google Analytics, 29 August to 24 September 2026. That window starts where it does because the call and WhatsApp tracking was added on 29 August — there is no earlier contact data to compare against, and the search figures above cover a longer period.

If people in your area are searching for the work you do and landing on somebody else, that is a structure problem, and it is fixable. I will build you a real homepage first so you can see it before you pay anything.
